Vybe is a social activity discovery app. We operate under the brand name Vybe and are based in India. We are based in India. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
| Account information | Your name, phone number or email, profile photo, bio, and location city. Provided by you at sign-up. |
| Location | Your precise GPS coordinates when you use the map, create, or join activities. We store only a fuzzy neighbourhood-level location publicly. Exact coordinates are never shown to other users. |
| Usage data | Which activities you view, join, and host. Used to improve your personalised recommendations. |
| Push notification tokens | To send you activity reminders and social alerts. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Notifications. |
| Photos and videos | Only those you explicitly upload as activity covers or clips. We never access your camera roll without permission. |
| Device information | Device model and OS version, for crash diagnostics and compatibility testing. |
3. How we use your data
- Show you nearby activities and people with shared interests
- Personalise your feed based on your past activity
- Send push notifications for activities you've joined or hosted
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive accounts
- Improve app performance and fix bugs (via anonymised crash reports)
- Comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. We do not run ads.
4. Third-party services

| PostHog | Anonymous product analytics. Data is pseudonymised; no personal identifiers are shared. You can opt out in Settings. |

| Expo / React Native | App framework. Used for push notification delivery (via Expo Push Service). |
| Sentry | Error monitoring. Stack traces may include device type and OS version. No PII is captured in error logs. |
We share only what is strictly necessary. All third-party processors are contractually bound to handle your data securely.
5. External event content
Vybe may surface publicly listed events from third-party platforms (such as Playo, Insider.in, Meetup.com, and Luma) as curated discovery cards in your feed. Clicking these cards redirects you to the originating platform. We do not share your personal information with these platforms unless you explicitly click through and interact with them.
6. Data retention
- Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained for up to 2 years for product improvement.
- Cached external event data is automatically deleted within 24 hours of the event ending.
7. Your rights
Under applicable law you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — update your data directly in the app (Settings → Account).
- Deletion — permanently delete your account and all associated data in Settings → Delete Account.
- Portability — request an export of your data by emailing vybeappclub@gmail.com.
- Opt-out — disable analytics and push notifications in Settings at any time.
For any data request not handled in-app, email vybeappclub@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
- Database tables use row-level security — users can only access their own data.
- Your precise location is never exposed to other users; only a fuzzy neighbourhood label is shown publicly.
- We conduct periodic security reviews and promptly patch known vulnerabilities.
9. Children
Vybe is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has created an account, please email vybeappclub@gmail.com immediately and we will delete the account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or an in-app banner at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Vybe after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
